Procedure before R.O.M

Before book the date for register, we need to go through some procedures.

First, we need to get the form for registration at JPN (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara).

After get the form, we went to commission for oath to get the help from oath officer. Oath officer will fill up the form for us, and verify the details that given by us. The documents those requested by oath officer are photostap identity card from bride and bridegroom, photostap identity card for witnesses from both bride and bridegroom.

We paid RM34 for oath officer's service. After filled up the horm, we returned to JPN and wait for JPN officer to process the application. JPN will give us the receipt which it need to pass to Thien Hou Temple's registration department. JPN charged us RM20 for the process.

Before proceed to Thien Hou Temple for date booking, we went back to Commision for Oath, and the officer will finalise the verification on the application.

Initially, we plan to book the date on 20-11-2011, which is quite special and easier to remember. But, that date already fully booked. After discuss for a while, we finally decided to book on Christmas. Due to that day is the public holiday, we need to pay RM160 for the registration. If it is normal day, you just need to pay RM120. If it is weekend, then you need to pay RM140.

Documents requested by Thien Hou Temple are receipt from JPN, birth cert from both bride and bridegroom, identity card which already verified by oath officer from both bride and bridegroom, and the witnesses.

That's the procedure that everyone need to go through for marriage registration at Thien Hou Temple.

After date booking, we just need to wait for the actual day coming.
